In 2022, my son started his school journey, but struggled deeply with sensory challenges and transitions. These difficulties quickly escalated into shortened school days and even suspensions, leaving us overwhelmed and unsure how to support him. Working with Anouska changed everything.
She took the time to help me truly understand what my son was experiencing. Through a detailed sensory questionnaire and thoughtful conversations, she guided me to see how his sensory needs were affecting him as a person, how he interacted with his environment, and how these challenges shaped his daily activities.
What stood out most was how practical and compassionate her support was. She didn’t just explain his needs - she helped me implement sensory strategies at home and worked collaboratively with the school to ensure he had the right support there too. This guidance was pivotal in helping him re‑engage with education, stabilise his school experience, and ultimately contributed to securing his EHCP and receiving an autism/ADHD diagnosis.
Anouska’s insight didn’t just help my son - it changed the direction of my life. Her work was so impactful that I’ve since begun studying occupational therapy myself, with a particular interest in sensory modulation. I’m incredibly grateful for her expertise, her empathy, and the confidence she helped me build during one of the most challenging periods of our family’s life.
Sophie, Parent
I have been lucky to have worked with Anouska for several years in my role as Early Years SENCo. Throughout this time, Anouska has supported me, as well as the wider team within our setting, the children, and their families. She has shared an absolute wealth of knowledge, experience, ideas and strategies, always with the needs of the child at the heart of her approach.
Anouska is incredibly approachable, supportive and flexible, and I have always felt comfortable asking her questions, no matter how small or straightforward they may have seemed. I know that the families we supported felt the same following their interactions with Anouska, sharing that they felt listened to, seen and heard, which is a real testament to the compassionate and respectful way in which she works.
Anouska is a passionate advocate for the children and families she supports, working not only to ensure that their needs are understood and met, but also to empower them to thrive. She brings a thoughtful, child-centred approach to her work and looks beyond what is immediately presented, considering the wider context and exploring how provision can be adapted to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Anouska has the confidence to constructively challenge existing practice when appropriate. Importantly, she does this in a supportive and collaborative way, encouraging reflection on the impact of current provision while offering practical, achievable ideas and alternative strategies to further develop practice.
I am so grateful for everything that Anouska has taught me over the years and would absolutely recommend Anouska to families and settings.
