Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

Does my child need a diagnosis?

No. You don’t need a diagnosis to work with us; we focus on understanding what your child needs right now.

What does Neurodivergent mean?

‘Neurodivergent’ describes people whose brains think, learn or experience the world differently - including autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences and Tourette’s.

What age range do you support?

We currently support children from nursery through to the end of secondary school, ages 2–16.

Do you work with nurseries and schools?

Yes - definitely. When required, we work with nurseries and schools so staff understand your child’s strengths, differences and how to support them

Do you support children who are not attending school?

Absolutely. For some children, school can feel overwhelming. We take their experiences seriously and support them and their family during this tricky time.  We can also help with transition back into a setting when appropriate.

Can you help whilst we are waiting for an assessment?

Yes - absolutely. We can support you while you’re waiting for an assessment, because we believe children should get the right help at the right time.

Do you provide autism and/or ADHD diagnostic assessments?

At present, we do not offer autism or ADHD diagnostic assessments.  However, if your child is known to us, our reports can be used as evidence within the diagnosis assessment process.

How do I know which service to choose?

You don’t need to decide alone. Our free 15‑minute consultation helps us understand what’s happening and guide you to the right service.

Who can refer?

Referrals can be made by parents/carers or by

educational  settings.

Can you help with behaviour that feels challenging?

Yes, we can help with behaviour that feels challenging. We work closely with parents/carers and, ideally, the setting, if needed, to unpick what the behaviour is communicating and plan helpful next steps.

School say my child is "fine" but I can see they are struggling, can you support?

Many neurodivergent people ‘mask’ at school, appearing fine while working very hard to cope. When they get home, their safe space, the overwhelm can show. We can support you to understand what’s happening and explore helpful next steps.

What areas do you support?

We support Early Years settings, Primary, Secondary and Specialist schools and families across a wide range of neurodiversity‑related needs, including autism, ADHD, AuDHD, sensory processing differences, Tourette’s, behaviour, emotional regulation and school attendance challenges.

What does an observation entail?

An observation means quietly watching your child in their setting to understand what’s going well and what might be feeling tricky. Ideally, this happens without your child being aware, but we know that some children find a new adult unsettling. We ask parents/carers to choose the approach that feels right for their child.

How do I secure an appointment with you?

Once we’ve agreed a date that works for you, we’ll send an invoice. Your appointment is secured as soon as payment is received.

(We are VAT exempt.)

How will you gain my child's voice

We gain your child’s voice through observation and age‑appropriate tools, including visual supports that help them express their likes, dislikes and lived experience. For older children, this may involve discussion or structured activities rather than play‑based interaction. We work with parents/carers to decide which method is most appropriate, and we also speak with adults who know the child well to build a clear, rounded picture of their experiences.

My child finds meeting unfamiliar adults difficult, how will you manage this?

We understand that for some children, meeting unfamiliar adults, can be overwhelming.  If your child doesn’t like meeting new people, we tailor our approach to minimise any stress. Observations can be completed discreetly and families can choose to share my one‑page profile beforehand so their child knows who we are. If your child shows signs of distress at us being present, we will remove ourselves, it’s important that we do not add to their dysregulation. We work with parents/carers to decide the most appropriate and comfortable approach for their child.

Can you write a report for an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNa)?

Yes - We can provide a clear, parent-focused summary of your child's strengths, needs and recommended support.  This is written for your and you can include it within your own parental contribution to the EHCNa.  We advise parents to either attach the report as an appendix or reference it within their written views.  Local Authorities must consider any information parents submit as part of the assessment, even if it wasn't commissioned by them.

This will be a bespoke service and subject to an additional fee.

Is what you offer just for the education setting or can it be used at home too?

Our approaches can be used at home and in education settings, depending on what’s most helpful for your child.
